Thinking about the sun? - Thinking about some fun?

We don't call the Phoenix valley "The Valley of the Sun" for no reason. We average 211 clear, sunny days; 85 partly cloudy; and only 70 cloudy! Not to mention the average yearly temperature of 72 degrees. These are just a couple of the many reasons why so many people come to visit, and decide to stay. We not only want to help you make the decision to stay, but also help you with the next steps to make it happen.

Whether you are considering becoming a "Migratory" Snow Bird in your retirement, considering a permanent move to the Phoenix area, or your job is bringing you and your family to the Valley of the Sun, you will find helpful information within this site. You will find helpful information about the state, the valley, parks, hiking, things to do and see; as well as the day to day details about living in Arizona.

Cindy from Iowa visited Montezuma's Castle in Feb, '08: "This made a great day trip from Phoenix. We drove up there in a matter of an hour or so. The drive was beautiful and the destination was very interesting and enjoyable. We really liked the ruins and had a great opportunity to learn alot about them from the volunteer park ranger. He was very knowledgeable and painted a great picture about the lives of these industrious people. We also visited Montezuma's well and found that to be just as interesting and well worth the extra time it took to visit on the same day. Understanding the canal systems they created and the advanced thinking it required to do so was very interesting."

Ellen from Michigan visited the Tonto Natural Bridge in Sept, '07: "We loved our adventure to Rim Country. Our favorite spot in the area was the Tonto Natural Bridge. There are many vantage points to the bridge, but if you are physically able, I would recommend you walk down to the bridge and across to the other side. It is a beautiful site. The rock formations on the walls of the bridge literally look like liquid frozen in time. We also made this easily as a day trip from the Phoenix area including the Rim, lakes and surrounding area."

Thomas from Minnesota visited the Apace Trail in Oct, 07: "This was a great day trip from Phoenix too. We took our time on the road, taking time to enjoy the views as we went along. We often stopped and did a little exploring. Stopping in Tortilla Flats for lunch is a MUST. Colorful little town of about 4 - with good food to boot!"
